چکیده

Background and Aim: The prevalence of esophageal varices is variable in studies with a mean 50% seems to be related the stage liver cirrhosis, 30% compensated 60% decompensated cirrhosis. There limited literature from India, which assessed utility MELD CTP score predicting EV patients present study was done compare ability predict grades cirrhosis patients. Results: In 152 patients, age 55.2 ± 11.58 years, ranging 27 84 75.7% were male. most common etiology our NASH + Cryptogenic (43.5%). A higher than 11.5 highly predictive EV, an accuracy 84.8% class C significantly associated grade Conclusion: CPS should used as initial screening tools for presence oesophageal cirrhotic areas lack endoscopy facilities. Future are warranted further define diagnostic non-invasive markers diagnosis EV.

Child–Pugh Versus MELD Score for the Assessment of Prognosis in Liver Cirrhosis

Child-Pugh and MELD scores have been widely used for the assessment of prognosis in liver cirrhosis. A systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the discriminative ability of Child-Pugh versus MELD score to assess the prognosis of cirrhotic patients.PubMed and EMBASE databases were searched. The statistical results were summarized from every individual study. The summary areas under ...

comparison of prognosis in patients with liver cirrhosis and its correlation with the model for the end-stage liver disease and child-pugh scores in patients with esophageal or gastric variceal bleeding

background variceal bleeding is one of the most serious complications of cirrhosis. up to now different methods are created for predicting the complications and mortality of cirrhosis. child- pugh score and meld score are two methods for this use. in this study we investigated and compared survival prognosis of cirrhotic patients by the child-pugh or meld score in two groups of esophageal and g...

Model for end stage of liver disease (MELD) is better than the Child-Pugh score for predicting in-hospital mortality related to esophageal variceal bleeding.

AIM The Child Pugh and MELD are good methods for predicting mortality in patients with chronic liver disease. We investigated their performance as risk factors for failure to control bleeding, in-hospital overall mortality and death related to esophageal variceal bleeding episodes. METHODS From a previous collected database, 212 cirrhotic patients with variceal bleeding admitted to our hospit...

The safety of intra-abdominal surgery in patients with cirrhosis: model for end-stage liver disease score is superior to Child-Turcotte-Pugh classification in predicting outcome.

HYPOTHESIS We hypothesized that the model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) score may be a better and less subjective method than the Child-Turcotte-Pugh score for stratifying patients with cirrhosis before abdominal surgery. DESIGN Retrospective medical record review. SETTING Tertiary care institution. PATIENTS Fifty-three adult patients with histologically proven cirrhosis undergoing a...
